I have not done a package compare, but 8.0 looks
to be more or less the same as RC-1.
8.0 does have a latter kernel build, 2.4.3-20
versus 2.4.3-10 in RC-1.
I am sure there are probably other patches and/or
fixes that have been applied to the final as well.

If you are happy with the RC-1 do you need to upgrade
to the final?
That is a personal choice.
I have a DSL connection and a burner, so I do it 
for no better reason than I can do so from the ISOs.
