Hi all,

We got an Alcatel DSL modem here.. and it connects to the PC via ethernet
and requires no drivers..

you plug it in, set your IP's and stuff and DNS, and off you go,, it
required nothing specific to it at all,,,

It was no harder to set it up in Linux then it did in windows.

plug it in, add your specific settings, and off you go...

perhaps you should try to get hold of one of them...

regards

Frank

There is a DSL modem made by Alcatel (External USB & Ethernet) that has
Linux
drivers. I currently have a 3Com PCI that doesn't support Linux. The USB
modem
will run you about $115 and the Ethernet about $150.

=),

Does anybody using mandrake 8.0 have DSL working? If so, did you need to do
anything special to get it to work?
