[newbie] Disappointed - the saga continues

Damn! 

 No such luck.  I repartitioned the drive with two ext2 partitions and a
swap partition and reinstalled LM8. STILL no joy.. hangs on INIT 2.78.

 Is there no way of getting Mandrake running?   :-(   Someone pleeease
help!
