Tazmun....pwd = pRINT wORKING  dIRECTORY.  kdesu is a GUI 
tool to allow you to run a GUI app as root.  The syntax is:

kdesu [-c] <name_of_executable>

advantage is that you don't have to log out as user and 
re-login as root to use certain root-only programs.  
Disadvantage is none.
