Hi! I'm trying to learn basic programming and running into trouble. When I try (echo "Hello, how are you") I have no problem but some of the commands (like chmod u+x hello) do not work. I get an error that says chmod no such file or directoy yet when I do a file search chmod is there. I'm useing mandrake 7.2. Any idea's of were I could get some good info on learning how to program would be appreciated. Thanks.
