Miark, I did the ln -s /dev/hdb /dev/dvd and now show /dev/dvd. I can read cdroms with the drive but with vlc It doesn't display any dvd play lists or seem to access the drive. If I use a file manager to look at the dvd disk then it shows audio.ts and video.ts
