just edit the hidden file ~/.kde/share/config/kscdrc (The ~ means it is in your home directory)
Where it says CDDevice=/dev/cdrom change that to /dev/hdc It should be OK then The CD-RW comes up as SCSI because Linux CD burning apps can ONLY use SCI devices, so your kernel emulates SCSI on your IDE drive.
