Sun pulled the SO beta because they had collected all the feedback they felt
they needed on it. The beta is based on an earlier build of OpenOffice.org
(incorrectly AKA simply "OpenOffice"). The newer OpenOffice.org builds are
faster and more stable than the SO beta, but they are missing a few (mostly
unimportant) SO-only features. Give it a go; it has worked very well for me.
