This hasn't helped me much, with my parallel port scanner. I have a Microtek
e-3 plus, which is supported , but I can't get it recognized. Also, I can't
get xscanimage as a drop-down option with gimp, either. I created a symlink
to /usr/bin/xscanimage in my ~/.gimp-1.2/plug-ins directory, but it still
doesn't show up in gimp. The docs make it look like it should be simple, but
it isn't, so my guess is very few people have managed to get their parallel
scanners working, and that's the reason for the lack of help on the subject.
