The 4.1 is the version of the install utility that was already in my machine. 

I have installed openoffice the way you coached me. Openoffice seems 
intuitive.  I had no problems with the fonts during the install. However, the 
spell checker is acting funny. It stops at every word irrespective if it is 
wrong or not! 

It appears that I am on my way to being FREE from Bill Gates AT LAST.
