If I have a Windows domain and want to add a linux box, do I need to have Samba installed on it.
I have a small network at home and am going to add the Linux box I built to it. Network config is Router | Hub | -------------------------------------------------- | | | | | Domain PC1 PC2 PC3 Linux Controller Box The Domain Controller is Providing DNS, DHCP. The Router does NAT translations. My question is do I need Samba to install on the domain? Can I just plug in and then configure proper settings like a static IP, and DNS server IP, Gateway IP, etc... Thanks Mike
