don't ya hate it when you solve it yourself mere moments after you post it?
for those are wondering, if you use bastille and let it screen out tcp wrappers, rfbdrake as a server or VNC as a server will not run. naterally you also need to open the neccisary ports in the firewall....... On Saturday 13 April 2002 16:55, shane opened a general hailing frequency and transmitted to all open stations: > i have two machines, both with 8.2 both with VNC i can connect with > both machine to outside VNC but only one can serve VNC. the other, > whomever connects it simply says "VNC server closed connection" > > the only thing i can think of is that i ran bastille, but the port is > open for VNC (if i run it on another port it says "can't connect") but > would bastille change something else? -- If the human brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn't. shane Profile at: http://dmoz.org/profiles/shen.html Proud to be a DMOZ editor since 10-98 Mandrake Users Club Member http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/club/ Registered linux user #101606 @ http://counter.li.org/
