As for your questions -- I can tell you that koffice.1.1-7mdk which shipped with 8.1 is broken. The print preview in kword does not work. All the text appears scrunched up. There was a fix koffice-1.1.1 which was never officially released by Mandrake, but was available on Texstars download site. Unfortunately Tex has deleted all his 8.1 rpms in favour of 8.2 ones. Mandrake 8.2 ships with koffice-2.0.1 You could try installing that, but I suspect you will run into problems with libpng2/libpng3 (You can always put the old rpm back again if it is no good) Or you could try mailing Texstar and asking nicely if he still keeps a copy of koffice-1.1.1 for 8.1 (www.pclinuxonline.com) Alternatively upgrading to 8.2 will fix it.
