Yeah, you need to add a new data source, then add a new table, then add a link to a document to edit... It works nearly the same as in 5.2.
There must be some tutorial online somewhere. And by the way, AdabasD's file format sucks, IMHO. I just use dBase. It's simple and has no limitations.
