You have four options: 1. Wine, which is a Win32 compatibility layer. It will allow you to run some win32 programs in Linux. It's a hit and miss thing. http://codeweavers.com
2. WineX, which is based on Wine, but developed specifically for playing win32 games. It can handle DirectX 8 games. It currently costs $5 per month for an RPM download subscription. http://www.transgaming.com/ 3. Win4Lin This is a full-blown, full-featured package that allows you to install Windows 9x/Me as a virtual machine. It doesn't do DirectX, so no gaming here. Handles everything else, though. It's about $100. http://www.win4lin.com 4. VMWare Like Win4Lin, except it will allow you to install operating systems other than Win9x/Me. It's about $300. http://www.vmware.com/ Miark "FARSHAD" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> saith: > hello > in linux can i run windows executable applications ? i have heard there are > Windows emnulator or Dos emulator which can run exe files .. is that right ? > if that work correctly , where can i download that ? i'm using from mdk 8.2 > are there these utilities into itself mandrake ? > > Thanks .. > bye > >
