So this affects everything, apparently, involving ripping and burning CD's. Why
have we not, then, seen posts aplenty from people complaining they're burnin'
coasters by the boatload?

I did a check back in the Newbie archives, and you were saying that anything
later than 2.6.9 would "comply to no more user space access in areas like cd
burning (the rr-scheduler and setpriority)...".

Can anyone running a >=2.6.9 kernel share their experience in this regard?
