Does anybody out there know if it is possible and the approximate cost of replacing the front element on a Nikkor 400 mm f3.5. I've called Nikon service, but they will not give an estimate on replacing the element without my sending the lens in. This is understandable of course, but considering how long Nikon takes on repairs it would be nice to have a general idea of the cost of repair before I say goodbye to the lens for 2 months.
