I don't have the lens, but have also been interested in it. When I asked at my local pro shops (Glazer's Camera and Op Techs Camera Supply in Seattle), they gave favorable reviews. Between them, they have sold at least a dozen of the lenses to working photojournalists. They have had uniformly positive review from these full-time pros. It sounds like the lens is a cut above the other Tamron lenses that I have owned (note the past tense). Rich
