Greetings, Nikonauts!

I've noticed recently that some of us have taken up mud-slinging. So much
less expensive than taking photographs, don't you think? And obviously, for
a
few of us, even more satisfying.

Here are a few disjointed thoughts in no particular order.

Thanks to Ales Lednik for his wonderful sentence ". . . read the manuals
first and get even with the equipment." The way some digest contributors go
on, it sounds as though that's exactly what they're trying to do.

Thanks to Todd Peach and Roland Tcheng for their explanations of "my two
cents-worth". Todd's mention of "twopenny-halfpenny" spotlights another of
those tripups which litter the path of the non-native speaker of English.
Why? Because it's pronounced "tuppeny-haypenny", that's why. I just knew
you'd be fascinated.

I must also offer thanks to those who are making the digest such a quick
read over the past few weeks. I can't afford the new F27 or the new
12-600mm f1.8 zoom -
I'm not even sure I can afford what I've already got! I can therefore skim
over about two repetitious thirds of each mailing. With the electricity
savings maybe I'll be able to afford a couple of rolls of film this time
next year.

New camera? Why? Have you worn out the old one?

BFN

David
