KP: I don't know which ballheads you were considering, but the Manfrotto/Bogen 3262QR is a good relatively meaty ballhead. Suitable for 35mm & medium format. It sells for about $45.00 US. I have one on my 3035 tripod and one on my monopod as well. Sam
