> Photodo www.photodo.com is showing the MTF graphs of both of the zooms.
> You can read the graphs in many ways, if you can read them at all.
> However, Photodo gives overall better grades for the 28-105/3,5-4,5D
> than for the 24-120/3,5-5,6D. Photodo test result grade was 2.3 for the
> 24-120 and 3.2 for the 28-105.

According to their test, the newcomer is also better than the 35-105
AF-D. The latter is quite a good zoom, very sharp, which had three
weaknesses:

- soft wide aperture
- vary important distortion
- distant close focus

The newcomer performs better on all three criteria, so I guess it will
soon become a very successful lens in the Nikon lineup. It is also quite
cheap. Actually, I'm thinking of getting one one day to compliment my
current equipment composed of primes.

Hope this helps,

Nicolas.
