Dear Nikoneers,

     1) TC20E + AF-S Nikkors or TC201/TC301 + AF-S Nikkors:
Maybe somebody out there can give me some input on the follwing
question: normaly I use F5 equipment as a backbone and as I got a
tax-refund (Whow!) from the (German) government, I was able to trade
my MF 2.8/300 for the AF-S version. Though I already use the AF-S
80-200 with the TC20E in AF/M-Mode, I sometimes prefer to g MF with
F3/FM2-equipment. However, the question is: if I use the AF-S lenses
with a TC on a MF-body, will I have to extend it with

     - TC20E, which I am not not allowed to use with NON-AF-S-lenses, but
     MF bodies?

     - TC201/TC301, which might (?) damage some of the rear contacts of my
     AF-S lenses?

     Any input would be appreciated.

     2) Nikon vs. Canon:
PLEASE stop this flame war about Canon vs. Nikon. I agree with those
of you, who look at the TS-E lenses sadly, but I am sure, that some of
the EOS-users also are looking sadly because the are not able to use
their (fantastic!) F1n (remember?)-Body mixed with their
     EOS-equipment.

I think the "EOS-sitting-on-Olympus"-tale is great!!! I really
appreciate this; but Canon itself is not the original name of the
company. Once it was "kwanon", which sounds rather weired if you
     pronounce it in German... <;-)

BTW: I keep my F1-n for sentimental reasons. This camera was far ahead
of the F3 (which I use really) and it's still IMHO. (think about the
metering, the power supply, lighting of the metering-display...)

BTW(II): I'd give my soul for a F3(N) with interchangable viewfinders,
HP-viewfinder, decent LC-display, spot metering and better lighting
facilities. It should, however, have at least 1/4000s - 8s, 1/250
sync, MLU and an attachable MD which doesn't sound like a starting
     Concorde...

     just my 2 cents...

     Michael
