Welcome to the list! Regarding your Nikkormat FT2 meter troubles... It's possible that the variable ring resistor in your meter has died. These are no longer manufactured, thus if I am correct you are out of luck for a replacement unless you take one from an ugly camera with a functioning meter. Have a repairman look at it, by all means, but expect the worst. The good news is, of course, that your camera has a mechanical shutter and will therefore work perfectly if you use a handheld meter to set exposure.
