I would agree with some of the others here. DO NOT try this,
especially since you stated that you are "poor on wedding
experience". If you have time and you MUST do this, at least
volunteer for some other weddings where you can get some experience.
If she has expectations that are not met, it could put a dent in the
relationship.

I have done a number of weddings - as a 2nd photographer/backup.
This allows me to enjoy the wedding and take candid shots that the
hired photographer would not take! Also, the hired photographer
usually leaves BEFORE some of the REAL partying starts.

If she does go with a hired photographer, you two should interview
them. Let him/her know what you would like to do. If you are going
to take any shots from the same angle, the hired photographer will
always go first. Establishing a relationship with the hired
photographer will benefit both parties.

When she is selecting a hired photographer, have her ask him/her if
they would have any problems with you doing some candid/backup work.
If the hired photographer feels threatened, they must not be too
confident of their work/equipment - find another one!

There are other services that the hired photographer can provide that
will be new ground for you. This includes the preview booklets,
double exposure, special filters, special printing, etc etc.
Usually, I take the pictures, number the back of the pics, then give
the couple everything...as a nice little wedding gift!

Hope this helps a little...
