Stephen,
Regarding your wacky meter readings on your FM, perhaps the little
button that allows the meter connecting tab to connect from the lens
mount to your the lens aperture ring has been pushed and the tab is not
engaging. It is designed to spring out of the way so you can mount non
AI lenses on the FM.
