I will second the recommendation made here to check out photo.net as a site for great help with a host of issues, including photo technique and gear advice. Go to http://photo.net/photo/ and say hellp to the doggie, then look around. The Discussion Forums are great places to visit regularly. I support this recommendation even though Bob Atkins is a brand C shooter and even though Philip Greenspun wrote a grumpy review of my favorite Nikon camera.
