why no TC16A on F100?

Does anyone know exactly *why* Nikon advises
not to use the TC16A on the F100?  I am planning
to get an F100, but don't want to give up the TC16A,
as I have had good results with it attached to a 300/4.

Nikon advises not to do lots of things that are actually
OK, so I'm trying to figure out exactly what the 
incompatibility is?
