Which do you think is better for low light, the split horizontal w/o grid
or the plain
w/o grid?>

Beattie screens for the FM2n include all those options. The difficulty you
may experience with low light situations si that 1/2 of the split image
area may black out. If so, you have a balck semicircle in the middle of
your finder & you can't use it to focus. If low-light is your #1 priority,
go sans split.
