The most important thing to check is if the meter is working still. If it is dead it cannot be repaired anymore. As to your other questions-- Yes the lenses can go on, but need the little hoop/hook added for the meter to know what F-stop you are at... (I think that is the only problem) I have two. The price sounds a little high. Also taking off the bottom is a pain in the neck every time to lead film. You can't do it while on a tripod or with a flash bracket attached. Sam
