I would afree with this advice, all of his boks are great. Of the two
mentioned, "The Nature Photographers Complete Guide..." is equipment and
technique oriented while "Focus on Nature" is oriented on the thought
process behind the image, asthetics etc.
Another book of his to look at is "John Shaw's Landscape Photography". This
book has some of everything in it, from equipment choices to exposure to
composition to planning a trip to a location.
Someone else mentioned the video series. While I agree that they may be a
little rough they certainly are not bad. The information in them is highly
valuable. Some of it gets repetetive but for someone trying to learn a
subject that can be complicated at first, the repetition helps. I think
they're worth the money.
