I found after shooting a large quantity of film at the Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge in Key West, Florida that in the excitement I was unable to keep the finished rolls of film in any kind of order. Things were just happening to fast. However, I did find when I got home and got all of the pictures back, it was not to difficult to compare the pictures against the picture data and figure out which data when with which roll of film. To make this easier you might try using a magic marker and numbering the film canisters in advance. And assuming you use slide film mailers, you can keep a written log of your film canister numbers and the mailer identification numbers (you'll loose your film canister numbers once the film is processed) You could even write your film canister numbers in the upper right hand corner of the return address label section of the film mailer.
