        I got an SB-27 for the same reasons.  I don't know
        what more the SB-28 would do, but whatever it is 
        I haven't missed it.

        No, but the bounce card works pretty well.  The only 
        problem with it is that when you shoot vertical format, 
        you have to hold the camera shutter-release down.  
        They put the bounce card on the wrong side of the flash.

        I use a stroboframe Pro-T.  It's simple and fairly sturdy, 
        and it flips the flash so you can use bounce in portrait 
        mode with the camera shutter-release-side up.
