This is a typo and should read 1 (one) EV (Exposure Value) or in other
words 1 f-stop. It's a feature that allows you to "fine tune" the exposure
compensation in steps of 1/3, 1/2 and 1 f-stop. So it's not another piece
of innovative Nikon technology I'm afraid !
