Hello fellow Nikoneers:
Tom writes in ND145, message 19 about a bad experience with B&H buying a new
F5 - substituting a grey market model for USA model. My experience with B&H
(I've bought a lot from them) has always been top notch. I'm not doubting
anything you're saying, Tom. I'm sure you are telling the truth. But maybe
there is some legitimate reason for the problem at B&H? Maybe they did just
get thing screwed up on their end. I've had some bad times with the smaller NY
shops but never B&H or Adorama. They seem too big to stoop to that level but
you do need to be on guard. By the way, you mention getting your credit card
company involved. Make sure they will. I found out on of my "Gold Card" Visas
only lets you dispute on purchases made in your home state! Great deal if you
buy lots of mail order (which I do). Anyway, just my opinion. Good luck
resolving your problem, Tom. Hope you can start enjoying your F5 soon.
