I use the 85 1.4 wide open most of the time due to lighting constraints.
Vignetting is practically zero, sharpness is very good from corner to
corner (I use slides for publications. approx. 8x10), perhaps due to
advanced aspherical design. Some people who are more critical with
sharpness may want to disagree with me. Contrast is maintained at all the
apertures.

Distortion control is good, I see that lines are rendered straight. 
Flare control is superb. Bokeh is smooth and creamy. Note that the AF
design defers from the MF version. Interestingly, coating is not the usual
green but rather an orangy-yellow on both ends, a bit like the Zeiss T*
series on the Hassy.
