NistNet doesn't have a port an protocol. It's a network emulator.
Packets transiting the PC with NistNet installed are delayed, dropped,
reordered etc.
Read the online documentation and the man page for more info. Also have
a look at Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_emulation
