Good Morning, sigfried trent wrote - "Seems to me the real goal is to make sure authors get credit for their work."
To put a finer point on it, the real goal is to give the copyright holders credit for their ownership. Authorship is secondary, IMO, though it can be included, even as the SRD listing shows. Regarding the PI is/is not OGC debate, I weigh in on the "is not" side. To mine metaphorical understanding, each product is like a stretch of pavement on which water puddles are OGC and oil drops are PI. If released under the OGL and d20 system license, at least 5% must be water. The oil can be splashed on as liberally as desired on areas where there is, or even is not water, but at no time does that mean the oil becomes water.
