The BSF4ooRexx installer uses the open-source utility called "Packages" which
can be found at:
<http://s.sudre.free.fr/Software/Packages/resources.html>. It consists of a
GUI, but can also be
used from the command line. AFAIK it is fairly easy to add preflight  or
postflight scripts and
define when they get executed (e.g. after installation, such that it is easy to
create the symbolic
links to /usr/local, after deinstallation - e.g. dropping the folder to the
Trash - such that one
can remove the links from /usr/local.

However, this would need probably another learning curve nevertheless and may
not be necessary,
seeing what your installer does (there must be a way in your installer to
define preflight and
postflight scripts).

Indeed, it would be just *great* if in addition the MacPorts and Home-brew
people would create
ooRexx installers.

[Also, getting a released ooRexx to the various Linux repositiories to make it
easy to install and
update ooRexx via those repositories. As it seems that currently there are no
people knowing how to
do it, we should try to get people in the know or people interested in helping
the ooRexx project to
lend a hand to succeed in this respect finally.]

Really, *very* impressive!

Best regards
