Frequent changes in the sandbox environment make me nuts! Once there was the "Manage stuff" for you to add apps, then it was removed. Then there was "Add Applications" in the home canvas and the little "edit" link above the installed apps on the left navigation menu-bar. Now they are all gone if you remove the apps and there's no way to add aplication anymore. Argggh!!
