BuddyPoke had two outages in the last week. The first was when Orkut initially went live to 75% of the rest of Brazil. It wasn't a problem with BuddyPoke's hosting (which is Google App Engine). There was something to do with Orkut's proxy servers? And that took it down for a few hours.
Then there was another outage because Amazon S3 went down for 8 hours, and the application xml is hosted on S3. (So much for a high availability system..) If you still can't access BuddyPoke then there's a bigger problem going on. It's been working fine apart from those two times (and the obvious outage of the whole of Orkut). But the actual hosting for BuddyPoke has been perfect on App Engine. I can't say enough good things about it. I'll be completely ditching S3 in the future.. I expect if you're still having problems it's because of S3 - they have this annoying thing where they throw 403 errors if the calling server's clock is out by more than 15 minutes.
