which is supported only in Xsun, not Xorg.

End of Feature of X Image Extension (XIE)

The X Image Extension (XIE) was developed as a standard extension to
provide applications with support for visually interactive image enhancement
and display operations.
It was removed from the X11R6.7 code base in 2004.
With the EOF of Xsun and its extensions, the client side components
of XIE have no value.
This case announces the EOF of, and removes, the XIE Client library,
API, and documentation from Solaris Nevada and OpenSolaris.
