I hope that this is appropriate for PSARC-ext. I believe it is, but we should be aware that there is line we shouldn't cross, like naming the executive you'd like to "wrangle". BTW: What is "wrangle"?

Ian has spoken to PSARC, and left this issue "hanging". My intuition is that the "Preview" label is the out being used. Of course, the same could be said about Solaris Express (its a Preview), but... The high order bit is "what is a GA product and what is not"? I think if we resolve this question, most of the details just fall out (well, that and the current state of the OpenSolaris constitution). > I still believe ARC early and ARC often should apply here, but maybe > the Indiana folks don't realize that they can (and should!) come to > ARC for inception, and/or umbrella review even before they have made > up their minds on all the details. > > Tim (added to CC list), can you check into this? > > -- Garrett >> >> - jek3 That said, I regret my "Aside" because it is too off tangent from this discussion. Let's not pursue this on this thread. I'm pretty sure it is on a couple of radar screens at the moment. - jek3
