No patches, no debugging, you can only complain. :(

However...just for you i tested it on Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle).
(http://downloads.sourceforge.net/thoughtpolicevm/fedora-17-i686.zip):

Follow the instructions at
http://openvas.org/install-packages.html#openvas_fedora_atomic

When "openvas-setup" is done:

rpm --nodeps -e libmicrohttpd
wget
https://launchpad.net/libmicrohttpd/trunk/0.9.15/+download/libmicrohttpd-0.9.15.tar.gz
tar xfvz libmicrohttpd-0.9.15.tar.gz
cd libmicrohttpd-0.9.15/
./configure && make && make check
cp ./src/daemon/.libs/libmicrohttpd.so.10 /usr/lib/libmicrohttpd.so.10
ln -s /usr/lib/libmicrohttpd.so.10 /usr/lib/libmicrohttpd.so.10.15.0

Now restart the gsad. This works for me. Don't forget to disable
selinux (setenforce 0) before starting a scan.

The workaround (using ibmicrohttpd-0.9.15) is quite long known.
