It would seem to me asking what antivirus programs work well with Protel is very on-topic, as would be Protel compatibility with a new OS, or backing up Protel designs, or how to do captures of Protel screens. What is off-topic should be things like environmental impact of lead, debates on nuclear power, endless year 2053 cataclysm speculation, number of bits in voting machines, etc., all of which were recently discussed on the Protel EDA forum. My guess is the moderators were very lax and then someone complained, so they got very tough. Its like a pendulum swinging. I think a consistent level of applicability should be enforced.

Subject: [OT] AntiVirus Problems

I sent this to the PEDA forum but was told by the administrator that this was not a valid topic. After protesting to no avail I am re-posting here:

Recently I've had InoculateIT antivirus loaded on my system (P4 2.4GHz w/ XP Pro SP1) and have since occasionally had my databases get corrupted. I remember others on this forum having problems with Norton. Is there an antivirus program that doesn't cause problems with Protel 99SE SP6?
