Yes I had read of those Wind Power opponents as well, I believe the one was in some Mass. coastal area where they already had some but were poo-pooing any expansion. I also heard that there was similar debating and yelling about a proposal to do Wind Turbines in the Cape Cod area. That will surely never happen, too much money and power to overcome with those nimbies opposed.
Looks like it's happening, at least that is the latest I've heard. (I live in Massachusetts, though in the western part of the state, not Cape Cod.)
