OK, thanks for setting me straight on the acronyms.  I can barely keep up
with the US acronyms, let alone global acronyms.  I see ROHS and WEEE used
together so much in trade journals, they tend to take on the same meaning
even though they are not the same thing.

As to the annoyance factor, I know you were joking, but I suspect there's
more to the issue than that.  If the US had any decent trade representation
(we don't), we would bring a challenge to ROHS and WEEE regulations before
the World Trade Organization.  IMO it's a non-tariff trade barrier, and
should be challenged as one.  But not to worry, the US would lose in WTO
anyway.  The US has only 1 vote, whereas the individual countries in the EU
each have 1 vote.  So the US would be outvoted at every turn.  Oh, did I
mention that the US does not have decent trade representation?
