That's one of the reasons why I haven't upgraded from 99SE to DXP. I
assume your comments about occasional slowness was directed at DXP,
right? From my experience, 99SE is not too big a hog. It will run OK
on a lowly W98 Celeron 366 w/64MB of RAM. Just don't try to have any
other apps open at the same time!
Upgrade scenario - hmm, let's see:
1) Buy DXP upgrade. Check!
2) Buy new PC because 4-year old 1GHz dual-PIII w/512MB RAM is no longer
sufficient. Check!
3) Install all my apps on new PC and tweak configurations. Check!
4) Migrate all my data over to new PC. Check!
5) Tweak XP GUI to get rid of Fisher-Price themes. Check!
6) Learn new DXP ways of doing stuff I could do before with 99SE. Check!
7) Contemplate the time and money I just spent on steps 1-6. Arrgh!

From what I hear (More memory = faster response) from Protel. I'm
using a
Gig of Ram and a 2.8GHz Intel Pentium 4 based system. It's still slow at
times...
