Speaking as one of the members of the .56% club, I vote for the "max out
your system's RAM" option.  I run PhotoShop as my primary app.  Since I
frequently work on layered images that exceed 100MB, it's very useful to be
able to allocate scads (using the 3ximage size rule-of-thumb to avoid
swapping to disk) of RAM to PhotoShop and know I still have plenty of RAM
for the OS and a few other applications.   Considering how cheap RAM is
lately, it's not a waste to upgrade to the max your system can support.
