I THINK these fans are 12V, you'd need to check this and make sure you connect it to a suitable supply. If possible I'd screw it onto the Mac's structure, if necessary making an aluminum strap bracket, or possibly glue with an epoxy (make this reversible!). Velcro would work... for a limited time only. Like tape, the velcro's adhesive will eventually fail, leaving a horrible sticky mess. Position it so that it blows air across the top of the HD. I imagine that if it sat across the back of the drive bay, set to one side, the air will blow into the bay and then U-turn (with plenty of harmless turbulence) around and back out the other side of the opening, past the fan. Otherwise you'd probably need to cut an opening in the side of the drive bay and mount the fan there.
