The 'wrapper' is a Mac OS Standard partition that 'wraps' around the Mac OS Extended partitions. Problems with this can be a serious, and reinstalling the OS will NOT fix it. At best try disk first aid to fix the problem. At worst, you need to reformat your hard drive. The cross-linked files is another hard drive problem, and a reinstall will probably not fix it. The cross linked files need to be deleted (Norton should offer to create alias' to them IIRC). There is one disk fix program that is suppose to fix the cross-linked files problem, but I don't remember it's name. The wrapper was a pretty neat way to get around the problem of allowing older Macs to boot an OS on an HFS+ partition.
